Lauzun

Lauzun is a pretty village located on the Lot-et Garonne / Dordogne border in the countryside of rural France. It is a small village, but offers all essential services and shops. You will find a patisserie, butchers, grocery shop, restaurant, a couple of bars and the tourist office. The village offers a medieval past and charm in abundance. This is all just a 10 minute walk from the gite.

There is a farmers market each Saturday morning where you can buy fresh produce such as vegetables, cheese, and wine. During the summer there are street parties every other weekend where you can dine in the street and eat meals from the local shops, such as duck, barbecued steak, or moules frites.

Lauzun also has a beautiful lake that sits at the foot of the chateau. The tranquillity of the lake offers perfect relaxation for picnics, and also has a small playground area for children. There are fish in the lake and it is possible to fish there after obtaining a permit from the local shop. There are also tennis courts next to the lake that can be hired.

This area is a perfect haven for hiking, cycling and horse riding. Fishing and Tennis are also popular with local tennis courts available.
